Leave NPSHA, pH or solid size blank when you do not know them. Blank means unknown. It is not the same as zero, and this build does not treat it that way.

- Duty
- 450 GPM @ 110 ft
- Absorbed
- 32.3 HP
- Motor
- 40 HP
- Materials
- Hardened alloy
Heavy abrasive duty: hardened wetted parts for wear life.
Why it ranks here
- Duty sits at 78% of BEP, comfortably inside the preferred range.
- Tip speed 66 ft/s, acceptable for intermittent abrasive duty.
- Needs 753 rpm rather than a trim: a 36% reduction is beyond practical disc trim, so this is a drive or VFD selection.
- 3" solids passage suits 22% solids by weight.
- At 2,500 cP the laminar principle holds up where a centrifugal would be derating hard.
Assumptions made
- NPSHA was left unknown, so suction is reported but not scored. It is not being treated as 0 ft, which would be a severe and very different condition.
- pH was left unknown, so material selection assumes a non-corrosive service. It is not being treated as pH 0.
What is real here and what is not. The physics is real: affinity laws, hydraulic power, efficiency falloff away from BEP, NPSH margin and tip-speed wear are all computed properly. The catalog is invented and every model is prefixed SP-for “sample pump”. These are not Discflo models and not Discflo curves. Loading your real curve data is Milestone One, and it is the only step between this and a tool your engineers could use.
It explains itself
Every recommendation says why: how far the duty sits from best efficiency, the NPSH margin, and what the abrasiveness does to wear life.
Unknown is not zero
Leave a field blank if you do not know it. Blank means unknown, and anything it forces us to assume is listed with the result.
Then talk to a person
Every pump is engineered to the application. Call 1-800-DISCFLO and an application engineer will confirm it against your fluid.
